“Let’s Give Up on the Constitution”?
That’s what Georgetown law professor Louis Michael Seidman advocates. Jonathan Adler tears apart Seidman’s nonsensical screed, which I hope only made it into the New York Times because editors believed that the shock value of the piece would increase readership (not a good enough excuse for including the piece, but at least it is a rational one).
I have long ago posited what some friends of mine have taken to calling Yousefzadeh’s Law: “There is no meritocracy in the field of punditry.” Professor Seidman’s ridiculous op-ed serves as a data point in favor of my argument.
