It is nice to see that the prosecutor linked to the torture and murder of Zahra Kazemi is going to prison. But let there be no mistake; the responsibility for Kazemi’s death does not lie with one person, or even a group of people. Rather, it lies with an entire system of government that is responsible for the unjust imprisonment, torture and murder of countless Iranians ever since it assumed power in 1979.

When Ali Khamene’i and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad go to prison, be sure to give me a call. Until then, I won’t be convinced that justice has fully and completely been done.
