I don’t quite know what motivates someone to hack into the e-mail accounts of famous people, but I know that whatever the motivation, the activity is hardly healthy. Especially sick is the decision to release pictures of George Herbert Walker Bush in the hospital, and to make public discussions of planning for the former president’s funeral.

Technology is supposed to empower us. It is not supposed to give us license to turn into ghouls. Whoever “Guccifer” is, I hope that s/he is caught soon and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
